Release Date:1988
www.chickcorea.com

This is the third album released by the band.  Chick plays several tracks on acoustic piano unlike all the electronic performances used in earlier recordings. The familiar Elektric band line up also includes rhythmic bass guitar sounds of John Patitucci.

Track List:
1. Home Universe (2:46)
2. Eternal Child (4:50)
3. Forgotten Past (3:00)
4. Passage (4:53)
5. Beauty (7:48)
6. Cascade Pt1 & Pt2 (7:08)
7. Trance Dance (5:50)
8. Eye Of The Beholder (6:32)
9. Ezinda (6:54)
10. Amnesia (3:20)

The first track 'Home Universe' is a great start to the album where we are whisked away to a futuristic world of weird machines, futuristic places and makes use of the Synclavier synthesizer.  'Eternal Child' has a more Latin-Flamenco and acoustic base.  'Passage' is a wonderful traditional funk jazz band piece with the electric piano lead from Chick ,Frank Gambale follows almost entirely on Electric fuzz Guitar and the sax sounds of Eric Marienthal complete this classic (listen to sample).   The end fade on this track was the only way it could go as you don't really want this to end.  'Beauty' is after an acoustic start forms a peaceful interlude to the set with organ pipe sounds.  'Cascade' begins with a traditional jazz groove but quickly gets away from the theme lead by Gambale. The title track 'Eye of the Beholder' is really a piece of Latin dance music and gives the whole band a chance to join in.

There were no accolades for this album but as 'Light Years' had won them a Grammy the previous year it was perhaps no surprise but a great pity as this was a superb piece of work from the band.
