This was fourth in the eight album series from the Return to Forever band and the follow up to 'Hymn of the Seventh Galaxy'.  Originally released in 1974 on vinyl and then on CD and cassette in 1990.  The band replaced Bill Connors with Al DiMeola on Guitar and was to remain with this line up for almost 3 years.

Track List:
1. Vulcan Worlds (7:51)
2. Where Have I Loved You Before (1:02)
3. The Shadow of Lo (7:32)
4. Where Have I Danced With You Before (1:14)
5. Beyond the Seventh Galaxy (3:13)
6. Earth Juice (3:46)
7. Where Have I Known You Before (2:20)
8. Song To The Pharaoh Kings (14:21)

The album rushes in with Stan Clarkes 'Vulcan Worlds' and Chicks familiar keyboard style is introduced after the first half minute.  The eight tracks are spaced out by three Corea piano short solos all titled 'Where Have I....You Before'.  Chick helps out Lenny White with 'The Shadow of Lo' a very powerful and melodic track involving the whole band and of course Lenny's drums are highly evident.  All the remaining material is Chicks and much use is made of the familiar Yamaha organ, and a Moog synthesizer that gives the whole album the feel of a sequel piece after the previous album 'Hymn...'. In fact track 5 'Beyond the Seventh Galaxy' basically picks up where that previous albums title track left off.  We are introduced to Al DiMeola with 'Earth Juice' and this track was originally the first on Side B for those of us who remember the thrill of finding a whole-another album hiding on the vinyl flip side.

The album finishes with huge 15 minute and misspelled on the CD sleeve track 'Song to the Pharaoh Kings'. This seems to be a introduction to Chicks ideas that were to lead to the 'The Leprechaun' two years later.  The whole composition is an amazing listen and although not as memorable as the previous album must be incorporated into any RTF collection for completeness.
